A Partnership in Caring visited the health clinic in Mbuga and brought medical supplies, donated by our supporters and friends. The clinic is very well run by the Benebikira congregation and managed by Sr. Drocelle (pictured below with volunteer Carolyn Rideout and newborns). There are long wait times as you can see.
Now in Rwanda, work by our volunteers Maria van Vonderen and Carolyn Rideout begins. Maria and Carolyn spent the morning organizing the donated medications and medical supplies. They will be delivered to Kabuga, Mbuga and SAVE Health Centers.
On Thursday, A Partnership in Caring Society volunteers Carolyn Rideout and Maria van Vonderen visited the Mbuga Health Center, The center provides a number of programs including pre natal care, delivery and post natal care, immunization, minor surgeries, TB and HIV services, nutritional support programmes , General assessments and referrals to district hospitals , education focused on healthy sexual development, and voluntary circumcision for boys over age 15.
In 2018 A Partnership in Caring Society purchased a delivery bed seen in the photos below. We are joined by Sister Drocelle , a midwife who is also the director of the Center.
Sixty Days For Girls Kits, 25 pairs of glasses, bottles of children’s Motrin and Tylenol were also delivered.
Among the supplies our volunteers brought to Rwanda this year are 68 Days For Girls kits ready to be distributed to young women to support their menstrual health. Most will go to a rural health Center in Mbuga. To support our ongoing work in Rwanda, you can donate on our website.
